Thompson Consulting Engineers, in its 64th year of continuous operation, practices consulting engineering in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering. The firm is staffed by 41 capable and experienced people, including mechanical and electrical engineers and designers, CAD technicians, construction administrators, and administrative personnel.

The firm's work is primarily in the Commonwealth of Virginia, with the largest concentration of projects from Hampton Roads, through the greater Richmond area and into the Charlottesville area. Our clientele includes architects, commercial and industrial facility owners and operators, facility construction and maintenance departments for state and local governments, design-build contractors and developers.

The firm is currently delivering a variety of projects requiring innovative and sound designs that address such issues as sustainability, "green" technologies, LEED strategies, energy efficient systems, integrated technology and communications, life safety, and security.
