Pedego Electric Bikes Edwardsville Company Information
Informations générales
Pedego Electric Bikes of Edwardsville started with a test ride on Pedego Electric Bikes at Seal Beach, California during the 2014 Snow Bird Season. Leslie and I noticed the Electric Bikes sign across the street from the grocery store at Seal Beach, threaded our way to the outdoor display of unusual looking bikes, and met the owner who was just opening his store for the day. Brian said: “Where are you guys from?” “We said: Edwardsville, Illinois! Brian said: 62025! With a puzzled look, wondering how he could know our ZIP Code, Brian confessed he had been a mail carrier in our town and grew up in Granite City.
Brian and his business partner Beth set Leslie and I upon a pair of Pedego Bikes and within a couple of minutes we were hooked. Before the end of the day we were proud owners of a Comfort Cruise and an Interceptor.
PEDEGO™ was conceived in 2007 to create a line of electric bikes that combine style and function to open up cycling to anyone who might otherwise not be getting the benefits from bike riding. Many people would like to ride a bike, but find it impractical or impossible because of hills, distance, health reasons, knee problems, aging or the inconvenience of having to shower and change at work. Everyone fits somewhere in these categories. We have ridden bikes for more than 50 years together but this was a totally different experience. “One that makes you wanna smile!”
Edwardsville and Madison County have more than 100 miles of improved bike paths reaching to Staunton, Troy and beyond to the East and South and through Collinsville, Granite City and across the Mississippi to St Louis and beyond to the West. Plans are in place to extend the trails via the Rails to Trails program all the way to Chicago. The scenery here is spectacular and the paths take you through some of the most beautiful scenery in the Midwest including the ride from Alton to Pier Marquette State Park along the first bike trail ever developed in Illinois.
So saddle up and come along with us on our adventure as our business grows and together we see our beautiful land from the seat of a “hello, fun…” machine.
