GCA Publishing Company Inc. is the largest local newspaper and magazine publishing company in the Nashville market. In the newspaper arena, GCA publishes eight weekly newspapers, the Green Hills News, Belle Meade News, West Meade News, West Side News, Bellevue News, Nashville Today, Hermitage News and Donelson News. On the magazine side, GCA publishes Today's Homes, Brides-To-Be, Today's Nashville and Nashville Dining Guide. All total, the GCA family publishes eight newspapers and six magazines that serve the Nashville market.
GCA Publishing Company Inc. was founded in 1989 by former Gannett newspaper executive, Gary Cunningham. In August of 1989, Cunningham launched the Green Hills News, Belle Meade News and West Meade News. Several years later, the West Side News, Bellevue News, Nashville Today, Hermitage News and Donelson News newspapers were added.
As our newspaper organization grew, it branched off into magazine publishing. In 1995, GCA Publishing Company Inc. launched its first magazine, Today's Nashville. The corporation has since added Brides-To-Be, Nashville Dining Guide and Today's Homes magazines.
Our newspapers and magazines have earned the respect of Nashvillians, and continue to live up to their reputation of "Where freedom of speech is alive and well." Over the past 24 years, our newspapers and magazines continued to grow, our readership continues to increase and our advertisers continue to get results!
The editorial content of our newspapers and magazines are locally written and edited by our news staff. Our newspapers focus on local community news, social events, business news, highlights and happenings, food, crossword puzzles and our Ticked Off column.
All eight newspapers carry a publication date of Thursday, but are actually distributed on Wednesday by newspaper carriers, mail and racks.
