General information

He received his Juris Doctor from Campbell University and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

His parents, both now deceased, were the owners and operators of Brownie Bakery in Washington, NC from 1945 to 1995. He has been married to Clair Brown for 40 years. They have three daughters and two grandsons. He enjoys golfing, boating, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. His wife, Clair, is a retired elementary school teacher in Pitt County. He was the manager of the 2003 Pitt County Girls Babe Ruth Softball Team that won the World Series for girls 12 and under division; beating a team from Jacksonville, Florida.

He has practiced law for 35 years. He practiced in ALL areas of law from 1984 to 1995. Since 1995, he has limited his practice to bankruptcy law and personal injury. He has represented thousands of clients in Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 proceedings. He is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, NC Bar Association, and Pitt County Bar Association. He regularly attends an early morning Men’s Bible Study at Covenant Church in Winterville, NC.
